Elevator Update

Our elevator repair company, Davis & Newcomer, has given us a tentative date of February 27 for beginning the removal of the old jack assembly from the elevator shaft.  The process for removal and replacement with the new assembly takes approximately two weeks.  All work will be performed at the basement level elevator opening so we should see no interruption of use of our elevator entrance/lobby.  If all goes well our elevator should be back in service by the middle of March.  We thank everyone for their continued patience and financial support and we very much look forward to a functioning elevator again. Sorry for the inconvenience.

The new, interactive edition of the "Boundless" (click here) newsletter is now available! In her opening letter, ELCA Executive for Development Rachel Wind writes that Epiphany is "when we celebrate God's only child illuminating the world as the light of all people" and continues, "this Epiphany issue of ‘Boundless’ celebrates the light of Christ as it shines through you."

Through your gifts to ELCA ministries, you are casting Christ's light across the earth. "Boundless" contains stories from just some of the people your generosity has touched: women theologians in Nicaragua, students at ELCA seminaries, families in Zimbabwe, young adults across the United States — and more.

What is a Heart Box?  Located in the Narthex, this heart box is a visual and tangible sign of how we continue in our journey to preserve a healthy congregation and church – a healthy body of Christ.  We do this with our hearts, and with all of our voices heard.  We ask everyone to please share your concerns, comments, and praises so we may continue to grow in health and praise to God as St. John's beloved community.  We ask that you include your name for follow or additional information, however, you can also  do so anonymously.  Each week pastor will read the comments and consider best how to address the concern, comment, or praise, which may mean getting other appropriate people involved.  Thank you in advance for helping to continue to improve the health of our congregation as we lead our St. John's community into the future.

Our thanks to Larry Gulau for making the box.
